Ken,
I want
to thank you for arranging some time in your busy schedule to train
with us! After attending your Combative Concept's course in 1997,
we became increasingly concerned with the lack of realistic training,
our department offered. Most large departments spend there training
time decreasing there exposure to liability, not helping their armed
officers "win" a violent conflict! We were lucky enough
to see this and found you to train with. Getting other people to
listen to the truth, was much harder.
Finally, after five years, fellow officers from
our Tactical Team, promoted and moved into command and training
spots at our institution. We convinced these people to attend a
Strategos International handgun course, with you as the instructor,
in July of 2002. Some of the officers in this class attended numerous
other courses from other companies. After the first day they realized
that they had found something special. They were impressed how you
"tailored" the class to their needs and weren't "rigidly
spoon feeding" them from your course outline. The straight
forward, innovative weapon retention principles, woke them up! It
was obvious that they were superior to other techniques they had
learned, elsewhere. The cornering principles and flashlight techniques
are leading the industry! Most of your principles and techniques
will be taught and used by the armed staff at our institution. Knowing
that my buddies have increased their ability to put the rampaging
"bad guys" under duress, when they choose, is very reassuring!
Once again, thank you for your patience and concern for the officers
you train! As soon as we get another group together, we will be
training with you again!
Sincerely,
Scott Kurt and Chris Martinez

P.S. We liked
the "Strategos" name. We are fans of the Spartans, too!
