Mike Owen recently retired from the Springfield, Missouri Police Department
after serving nearly 27 years. Among other assignments, he was a founding
member of the department’s Special Response Team (SWAT) and
served as a full-time member for over 9 years. Later, he supervised
the Violent Crimes Unit which investigated all robberies, homicides
and adult sex crimes.
Mike has taught classes on police tactics, criminal investigations
and law enforcement ethics within his former agency as well as in
numerous cities throughout the United States and in several foreign
countries. Mike has been married for over 24 years and has two children.
He currently holds a leadership position in the same church he has
attended for over 20 years.
