Tactical EMS Operator
Tactical Training - Emergency Services - Medical Training

Description:
This program is for the medical provider who supports a special operations
tactical team. A cadre of experienced operators and instructors will present
tactical medical concepts in an environment of positive energy and respect.
Our cadre is known for the accredited program the “Essentials of Tactical
EMS” that has been offered at Camp Ripley Minnesota since 1995 and
elsewhere for almost 20 years. Modern concepts and practical scenarios are
based upon the military Tactical Combat Casualty Care promoted by United
States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
CME CREDITS:
44 hours of CME credit for professional medical providers
has been approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

Medical Equipment Requirements:
Each participant should bring their
own basic
trauma kit or “jump bag” suitable for deploying in the field. It
should be compatible with the gear they are wearing and may be a backpack, butt
pack, or over-the-shoulder design. Kit should contain airway management tools,
blood stoppers, and routinely used equipment and supplies appropriate to their
level of licensure or training (no drugs). Equipment will be used and re-used
in missions and scenarios throughout the week.
Addtional
Equipment required:
• Tactical Uniforms (BDU’s
or flight suit)
• Supportive and well-fitting boots
• Hood or balaclava
• Clothing for all weather conditions
• Ball cap or boonie hat
• Full rain gear (do not neglect this!)
• Eye protection and sunglasses
• Leather gloves
• Duty pistol with minimum 4 magazines, holster and 1000 rounds ammunition
• Blue simulation pistol same model as duty pistol (must fit in holster)

• Body Armor
• Knee Pads
• High intensity flashlight
• Pocket notebook and pencil
• Pocket knife or Leatherman tool
• Personal load bearing gear such as ALICE or some type of daypack
• (2) 1 quart canteens or Camelbak
• Helmet (Kevlar not required, skateboard or whitewater helmet OK)
• Gas Mask (must fit with helmet on)
• Eye and Ear protection for firing range
• Medical Jump Kit
• 20 feet of 1-inch tubular rappel webbing with locking D carbiner
