I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the course last week. After 15 years of Japanese Martial Arts and 9 years of Law Enforcement I thought I had the Defensive Tactics Game figured out. Thanks for the new perspective...

My plan is to implement the tenets of PCR into our entire departments training program. I am also a trainer for the multi-agency SWAT association in the county and we run an Officer Survival School that has already trained about 400 officers state wide. I now need to go back and re-examine many of the old ways of doing business."

The PCR Course you just completed
at the Allstate Center in St.Petersburg was awesome. Wow! It was beyond my expectations. I loved the tactics, topics and instructors. You all did a great job putting the material on. I can't wait to put some of the tactics to use on the street, lookin forward for someone to resist next time.

I will also send out an email to local agencies prior to ur next class in an attempt to bump up student count. I can't believe anyone would pass up this type of training. Just wanted to say thank you and lookin forward to you all returning next year."

Ken,
I doubt that you will remember me, but I was one of the students in the PCR instructor course that you held in Sioux City in March of this year...

I was one of the quiet ones in the class, as I was a little overwhelmed with the information presented. It wasn't until after the class was over that the principles finally clicked in. I work as a reserve police officer for a smaller community that borders Des Moines. I spend several hours a month working for the police department. My full time job is as a public safety officer for a very busy hospital in downtown Des Moines with a large psychiatric patient base. Needless to say, I am in some sort of a physical confrontation every week. The skills that I learned that week in March have benefited me in more ways that I can express. I have tried to share the principles and skills that I learned with the members of the police department that I work with. Many times, the other officers cannot believe how easy things are when you just let yourself relax and breathe. I would like to thank you and Drew for the training that I received."

"Physical Conflict Resolution" (PCR)
Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics - Counter Measures - Combatives
Course Length: 5-Days
Tuition: $695

Description:
All applicable strategies and techniques needed by law enforcement officers to operate in close proximity to a wide variety of potential threats if those threats become physically non-compliant or overtly aggressive. The officer must resolve any situation by adhering to the appropriate Rules of Engagement/Use of Force Policies dictated by the reasonable application force, if and when force is required.
In today's higher threat, active-shooter situations, your job may not always be entirely defensive in nature, regardless you must only use the minimum amount of force required to resolve the situation. There is a Force Continuum. It's there for a reason and we must respect the concept.

Throughout the years, we have observed the following:

  • Officer need to understand how to efficiently take no-shoot threats to the ground and keep them there without excessive force.
  • Officers need to understand how to deal with non-compliant no-shoot threats while maintaining the ability to address higher-level threats.
  • Officers must not over-react to combative behaviors by suspects and non-threatening bystanders located in a high threat area. (juveniles, females, elderly)
  • Officers must know how to deal with deadly force attacks with options that precede the use of a firearm.
  • A better strategy and set of options for keeping their own weapons (Approx 10% of officers feloniously killed died by their own weapon - FBI 1993-2002)
  • A well-thought out, focused and properly administered program of instruction will ensure long-lasting and repeatable competency in these vital areas.

If you invest 100% of your energy and enthusiasm into this week
you will leave with:

  • A proven strategy
  • New biomechanical tools that can be regulated at will during conflict
  • Skill and confidence at a substantially higher level that brings a calmer mind
  • A better understanding of how to evaluate and improve your current program
We are not going to presumptuously tell you how to do your job in your area of expertise. It will be up to you to tailor your presentations and departmental instruction to fit the specific rules of engagement and use of force policies mandated by federal and state law, and your departmental polices and procedures.

Officer will leave with the following:
Extensive, illustrated Instructor Manual that supports an entire departmental training program Warm-up, conditioning, safety, principles, techniques, supporting articles and
